Three paintings by Pham Luan are Displayed in “Art Exhibition by Leading Contemporary Artists in the Art Market”

The Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) has organised an art exhibition to honour and to introduce artists who have affirmed their names in the domestic and international art market.

The exhibition will be on display from 6 August to 15 August 2020 at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum.

Artist Pham Luan has been selected as one of the 19 artists in this exhibition. With his signature style, Pham Luan depicts Hanoi and the people living and working in the city.

In Glass Cleaner, a strong window dominating the canvas. A worker in full protective gear was working away with the city scenery opening at his back. Depicting this kind of new job, Pham Luan wants to highlight the working people as well as hinting at the rapid development of high-rise buildings which changed the face of the city.

In Noon, Luan paints another familiar sight in Hanoi, people sitting and chatting at small tea shop on the pavement. The group of people included both tourists and local people, once again hinting at the changes of the city.

Finally in Late Night, Luan showcased his ability to depicting lights, even during a night scene of Hanoi street.

This exhibition recognised the achievements and efforts of contemporary artists in developing the art market in Vietnam. The diverse subjects of these painting represent the expanding of artistic interests of local artists. Their creativity and talent have contributed to introducing Vietnamese art to the world, and building a bridge for cultural exchanges.
